70 Disturbing Facts About the 9/11 Attacks http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=178 http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=178#comments Wed, 25 Apr 2007 15:57:21 +0000 YOPF http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=178 1. The president of the United States, when informed that a second plane had struck the World Trade Center, continued to read about a pet goat.

2. This same president was moved from his high rise hotel in Genoa Italy two months previously for security reasons, because of a known al Qaeda plot for hijacking and “crashing an airliner into the Genoa summit of industrialized nations.” The assumption in July 2001 was that there existed a plot that “terrorists would try to crash a plane to kill Bush and other leaders” (LA Times, 9-27-01).

3. The Secret Service did not secure the president, even though his location was publicly disclosed in the press for days before the school photo op on 9/11. This was a break in standard operating procedures that left the president vulnerable in the middle of a purported “attack” on America.

4. NORAD has told three different and conflicting stories explaining why no jet fighters intercepted any of the four hijacked airliners.

5. Vice President Richard Cheney was placed in charge of anti-terrorism training and military preparedness exercises by Bush on May 8, 2001. This gave him command authority during the 9/11 attacks because as many as nine war game exercises involving military and intelligence agencies were occurring simultaneously.

6. The military’s “Air Piracy” regulations were rewritten on June 1st 2001 to require the “Secretary of Defense” to give “approval” for military escort aircraft in the event of a hijacking. Donald Rumsfeld gave no “approval” that day.

7. More than an hour and fifteen minutes after the first hijacking was reported by FAA, the US military headquarters at the Pentagon was struck without any defensive action taken to stop the attack. The impact was on the west side, for some reason the only side that had been “hardened” with blast-proof windows and specially reinforced walls. None of the highest ranking military leadership were located on that side.

8. (TRANSCRIPT) Air Force General Richard Myers: “When it became clear what the threat was, we did scramble fighter aircraft, AWACS, radar aircraft and tanker aircraft to begin to establish orbits in case other aircraft showed up in the FAA system that were hijacked…”

Senator Carl Levin: “Was that order that you just described given before or after the Pentagon was struck? Do you know?”

Air Force General Richard Myers: “That order, to the best of my knowledge, was after the Pentagon was struck.”

Reality intrudes. It became “clear what the threat was,” the moment the first hijacked airliner struck the North Tower at 8:45am. This congressional testimony is inexcusable and grounds for investigation into criminal negligence, dereliction of duty, and treason.

9. “President Bush personally asked Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle Tuesday to limit the congressional investigation into the events of September 11…” …”Tuesday’s discussion followed a rare call to Daschle from Vice President Dick Cheney last Friday to make the same request.”

10. The Project For a New American Century, which wrote of the need for a “catastrophic and catalyzing event, like a new Pearl Harbor,” had members throughout the top of the government on 9/11 including Cheney, Rumsfeld, Perle, Wolfowitz, Feith, Bolton, Armitage, Abrams, Wurmser, as well as Bush’s brother, the governor of Florida, Jeb.

Below is a description and a download link from a torrent search.

“On Friday, May 23rd, the nationwide, public radio and television show Democracy Now! premiered Afghan Massacre: The Convoy of Death, a controversial documentary film alleging U.S. military involvement in a massacre of Taliban prisoners in Afghanistan. The film, never before shown in the U.S., aired during the Friday broadcast of Democracy Now!, at 9 a.m. EST. Afghan Massacre: the Convoy of Death has been broadcast on national television in Britain, Germany, Italy and Australia and has been screened by the European parliament. Produced and directed by Irish filmmaker and former BBC producer Jamie Doran, the film tells the story of thousands of prisoners who surrendered to the US military?s Afghan allies after the siege of Kunduz. According to the film, some three thousand of the prisoners were forced into sealed containers and loaded onto trucks for transport to Sheberghan prison. When the prisoners began shouting for air, U.S.-allied Afghan soldiers fired directly into the truck, killing many of them. The rest suffered through an appalling road trip lasting up to four days, so thirsty they clawed at the skin of their fellow prisoners as they licked perspiration and even drank blood from open wounds. Witnesses say that when the trucks arrived and soldiers opened the containers, most of the people inside were dead. They also say US Special Forces re-directed the containers carrying the living and dead into the desert and stood by as survivors were shot and buried. Now, up to three thousand bodies lie buried in a mass grave. Outraged human rights groups and lawyers are calling for an investigation but the U.N. special envoy to Afghanistan refuses any U.N.-backed investigation until the Afghan government can protect witnesses. Two of the witnesses in the film have already been killed. ”

Think about it - I can get double the mileage from my efforts and my posts won’t disappear. The drawback is I don’t have time to make it pretty. A Shout-Out to Senator McCain http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=175 http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=175#comments Mon, 09 Apr 2007 15:27:53 +0000 YOPF http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=175 Dear Sen. McCain,

Once again your presidential aspirations are going nowhere and so I have a unique suggestion for you. Instead of wasting your time sucking up to the extreme right-wing - telling the lies that they want to hear and yet still being continually shunned by them - why not try telling the truth? I mean, seriously, senator, tell the truth, what have you got to lose?

Sincerely,

An American who is ashamed that he actually once believed that you had some integrity.

So far as I can tell, the only real use George Bush has for the Ten Commandments is as a guide to comprehensive sinning. By my count he has broken at least 7 of 10, and others may well award him more. Here’s how I have it scored on my card:

Do Bush Supporters Hate Their Country? http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=169 http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=169#comments Fri, 02 Feb 2007 07:39:52 +0000 YOPF http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=169 Sometimes the people who still fervently support George W. Bush seem just plain stupid, and other times it seems they must be dishonest and even malevolent, harboring a hatred for their country that allows them to support misguided ideas and private agendas over the public good. In more reasonable moods, I want to believe that the Bush supporters are just like me in simply wanting what is best for the country safety, security, fairness and a commitment to a government that observes the principles upon which our nation was founded. When I’m thinking that way, I assume we don’t disagree on goals and objectives, just on the most effective way to achieve those goals and objectives.

It’s hard to keep that thought, though, when the lies keep piling up higher and deeper, and when so much of the energy of Bush supporters goes into evading reality. Is it really possible for there to be an honest difference of opinion about the calamitous Bush decision to invade Iraq? No weapons of mass destruction there, as we were told there were. No link between al-Qaida and Saddam Hussein, as we were told there was, and as we continue to be urged to believe by deceptive administration rhetoric. Almost no likelihood that a stable democracy will be possible in an Iraq rent by ethnic feuds and anti-democratic traditions. Billions upon billions of dollars squandered in Iraq, and billions more stolen by corrupt U.S. contractors. Meanwhile, the Homeland Security entity Bush created has shown itself to be yet another huge government boondoggle, and utterly witless in responding to a national emergency.

Beyond that, we have the shameful spectacle of Americans who call themselves patriots urging a forfeiture of our rights and liberties as U.S. citizens the rights to due process and the protections devised by the founding fathers to guard against abuses of power.

And beyond that, we have breaches of national security in the outing of a CIA agent for no better reason than spite. We have the staffing of all kinds of highly paid and important government jobs with incompetent administration cronies and partners in crime. We have repeated and massive failures of imagination. No one could have imagined a) people flying planes into U.S. skyscrapers, b) a storm of the magnitude of Katrina, or c) a Palestinian militant group like Hamas winning elections in Palestine these being just a few of the things Condoleezza Rice has said the administration couldn’t imagine.

Beyond all of that, we have the growing gap between rich and poor…

Actually I was on vacation Thursday, Friday, and Monday. I am in the top 10% income earners in this country, and I’m very concerned about those who are having to make those fries.

The people I went to the march with included computer engineers (me), high level managers, graduate students, undergradute students, and life long politicians who have spent their lives in the middle east trying to solve their problems not make new ones.

The really cool thing about this country is we’re all entitled to an opinion… yours just happens to be wrong.

Do you not realize we are spending nearly $2,000,000,000 per week supporting this war (count those zeros)? If we had spent the same money on alternative fuel research we wouldn’t need oil anymore. We have lost 3,000 combat troops, and permanately disabled another 17,000. This war is putting us into a defecit we may never crawl out from under, and China is one of our biggest lenders! We have lost all credibility with friends and enemies alike around the world. Bush puffs up his chest when talking about Korea and Iran with no teeth behind his threats, further eroding our credibility.

I fully supported our move into Afghanistan, but we should never have gone to Iraq, however, I’m not one of those who advocates immediate withdrawal or defunding of the war. I would support defunding of the war if it was the only way to bring them home. It seems in order to get a centrist solution to a problem we have to setup a group of polar opposites to drag the country back to the center.

Approximately 65% of people polled in this country do not favor a troop surge, because it won’t solve anything. They just replaced “stay the course” with “troop surge” without really changing the underlying tactics. And in case you missed it in government class, this is supposed to be a representative democracy where our opinion actually does count.

And your last argument was the MOST RETARDED! How much time elapsed between attacks BEFORE 9/11. Everyone who makes that argument seems to forget that we only had one other foreign terrorist attack before 9/11 and it was also on the WTC. So without the Patriot Act, without the Warrantless Wiretaps, without the War Against Terror (aka let’s steal some oil), without the Homeland Security agency, and without the Bush inspired paranoia we managed to stay pretty secure. And if Bush had actually read the security appraisal left by his predecessor (assuming he had graduated from the Dick and Jane readers by then) he would have seen not Sadaam Hussein, but Osama bin Laden at the top of the list.

When you strap on your boots and your armorless flak jacket, pick up your M16 and your ration of ammo, and go to Iraq yourself talk to me. Or better yet send one of your sons to do the job for your armchair quarterback, watch the war from my couch, overfed fat ass, then you might have the right to say send more troops into the grinder.

If Bush and his administration had not had blinders on regarding Sadaam Hussein, we would never had to worry about any rubble in New York or DC. The vaulted members of our current republican executive branch are the founding members of PNAC ,and their manifesto regarding the security of the US being directly linked to Iraqi oil, written in their own hand in 1998, expressly says we need to depose Sadaam and install a western friendly government to guarantee a supply of oil for the 21st century. As far as I know it is still on their website. That was 3 years before 9/11.

Turn off Fox and do a little of your own research. Bill O’Reilly will only make you dumber… if that’s possible. Source: posted by tolwyn on 1/29/2007 7:15:16 AM. URL: http://www.shoutwire.com/comments/50865/Thousands_of_Unemployed_March_on_Washington_D_C_

About The Republican LIE That Liberals Hate America http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=163 http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=163#comments Sun, 28 Jan 2007 08:51:49 +0000 YOPF http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=163 Liberals are the staunchest defenders of America as defined by our founding documents and as defined by the American people. What they hate is the bizarre and inhumane concept of America that is put forward by today’s Republican Party. When liberals criticize that version of America, and are consequently accused by Republicans of “hating America”, they should be very assertive about making the distinction. Few Americans approve of today’s Republican agenda once they understand what it is.

TIME to ESCORT THE PRESIDENT OUT of THE CASINO? http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=151 http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=151#comments Sat, 13 Jan 2007 06:56:43 +0000 YOPF http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=151 Anyone who has spent time on a casino floor has probably witnessed a black jack or roulette junkie on a losing streak. But, he keep’s on gambling, saying to his wife or friends, “all I need is one more chance, I’m hot, I can feel it this time, I know I can still win”. Eventually, if he’s lucky, his friends drag him out of the casino, cutting his losses. Compare that to the President…who is pushing for permission to gamble with 21 thousand more of his own people’s lives.

Original DOD Documents Proving Over 10 Thousand American Soldiers Dead as of July 2005 http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=148 http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=148#comments Wed, 10 Jan 2007 08:11:17 +0000 YOPF http://www.rosecoloredglasses.org/rcg_warblog/?p=148 This site claims to have “…a copy of the original DoD Supplementary Casualty lists, showing the actual military deaths from March 2003 through July, 2005 as taken from their official site (now deleted) and showing over 10,000 actual deaths…” The author goes on to say that “The actual total of dead American military personnel is now over 15,000 and also rising, and the number of seriously wounded is now ca 27,000.” There’s lots more dirt on TPTB. Chek it.
